Hello,

I was given your contact data by California State Senator Toni G. Atkins (39th District), President *pro Tempore*, who I believe has contacted your boss, San Diego City Councilmember Chris Cate, on my behalf.

Unfortunately, I do not agree with Senator Atkins’ assessment that my issues are “covered under the City of San Diego’s code compliance ordinances” rather than Cal. Civ. Code § 841, and I have sent Senator Atkins a long letter explaining why I believe it is the responsibility of the California state legislature (not Councilmember Cate) to remedy problems with California’s flawed Good Neighbor Fence Act of 2013. I have cc’d Chris Cate on the letter, and his copy will be mailed some time tomorrow (Tues., 8/14/2018).

In the meantime, you and/or Councilmember Cate can view an advance digital copy of the 7-page letter (written this evening, 8/13/2018) at:

For your convenience, I include below the hyperlinked text of all URLs listed in the 7-page printed letter, so that you don’t have to type them in by hand:

As far as I’m concerned, there is no need for your office to “quickly determine an appropriate next step for” me “to take,” as Senator Atkins requested.

(I have already taken that next step with the letter I wrote this evening to Senator Atkins. ;-)

My apologies for all the bother,
Deborah
